Shivaksh Sharma
ddaramaiah was born on August 3, 1947, in a farming family in Mysore, just before the country’s independence. After obtaining the degree of B.Sc, he advocated and started his career as a lawyer. Siddaramaiah was first elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1983 as an independent candidate. In 1994, while in the Janata Dal government, he became the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. Left the Janata Dal Secular after a dispute with HD Deve Gowda and joined hands with the Congress in 2008.
Presently, he is the chairman of the coordination committee of the Congress which coordinates the Congress-JDS coalition government. Siddaramaiah held the reins of the state as the Chief Minister from the year 2013 to 2018 and completed a tenure of 5 years. He was the first chief minister of the state after 1977 to complete his five-year term. In 2018, he set a record by presenting his 13th state budget. In 2023, after the victory of the Congress, he once again took oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
