Jaipur: Today the country is celebrating 77th Independence Day. Today our country has completed 77 years of independence. On August 15, 1947, our India became independent from the slavery of the British. On this day the Prime Minister of the country hoists the tricolor at the All Fort in Delhi and addresses the nation. Apart from this, all the security forces including the Army, Air Force and Navy organize parades on this day. Celebrations are organized at many government and non-government places including school-college. This day is a national holiday in our country.
Let us tell you that for the first time after independence, on August 15, 1947, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the tricolor at the Red Fort. Since then, every year on Independence Day, the Indian Prime Minister addresses the countrymen by hoisting the tricolor at the Red Fort. This day is to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country.
