How were the child legislators trained for the historic Himachal Pradesh Vidhansabha Baal Satra?

Jaipur|Online training was given to the children for 3 months before organizing the Himachal Pradesh Vidhansabha Bal Satra . The Baal Satra was organized by Digital Baal Mela and sponsored by LIC . During the 3 month long training , children got the opportunity to interact with veteran political leaders, educationists, sportspersons, artists, journalists and officials on various topics related to politics and society.Through these sessions, the children learned how to put forward their opinions and suggestions.
An online training of the selected child legislators took place in the second phase . After this, in the third and last phase, on 10th and 12th of June , the selected 68 child legislators were trained in HIPA (Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration).
During this training, the children got to know and understand the working of the House . They learned what and how they have to speak in the House. Teg children learnt how to present their views, who is the Speaker, what is the role of a speaker , how is the Speaker addressed in the House and much more . Along with this, the selected children were divided between the ruling and Opposition party .Rajasthan’s Education Minister Dr. Bulakidas Kalla was also present at the time when the role of children was being finalized and it was he who selected Anni’s Ruhanika Verma as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.
Afer the conclusion of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhansabha Baal Satra , a bon-fire and cultural program was also organized for the children on the evening of 12th. In this, the children enjoyed performing the local dance of Himachal Pradesh Nati and also played many games. The Government of Himachal Pradesh had made the required arrangements for the children coming from different parts of the state and country to stay in HIPA .
Janhvi Sharma of Digital Baal Mela told that this “Baal Satra” organized in collaboration with the Education Department of Himachal Pradesh was presided over by Speaker Mr. Kuldeep Singh Pathania. Prior to this, Rajasthan became the first state in the country in which Vidhansabha “Baal Satra” was organized. This golden opportunity was given to children by the honorable Speaker of Rajasthan Mr. CP Joshi . A total of 200 children attended the proceedings of Question Hour and Zero Hour sitting in the Vidhansabha Bhavan, Jaipur.
