Jaipur| In the Vidhansabha Baal Satra organized by Digital Baal Mela and sponsored by LIC , a question was raised on Sports during the question hour proceeding. The question was raised by the MLA of the opposition from Jhanduta , Vyom Singh . Vyom inquired about the available arrangements for Sports in the state. He asked what steps the government has been taking to encourage sports .
Responding to this question, Sports Minister and Child MLA from Solan, Vedan Thakur said that the state government is providing various facilities for cricket, football, hockey, ice-hockey, golf, badminton, table tennis, kabaddi, tennis, volley-bowl, judo and wrestling . Along with the traditional sports like Kho-kho and handball, it is also promoting adventure sports like paragliding, kayaking, skiing, river rafting, ice-skating, mountain biking, trekking. Along with this, he told that there is a provision of 3 percent quota in state government jobs for the encouragement of sportspersons. Provision for direct recruitment in class 3 and class 4 in these jobs has already been made by the state government. Along with this, there is a provision of sports quota for international players of 52 sports in Himachal Pradesh Police Recruitment 2023. To promote sports, the state government also plans to organize rural Olympics in the month of September on the lines of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh states.
Priya Sharma of Digital Baal Mela told that this historic session was organized on 12th June on the occasion of World Day against Child Labour. In this session , Mr. Harivansh, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha of India, was present as a special guest . Mr. Harivansh during his address urged that such “Baal Satras” should be organized in every state of India .
