The state witnessed a historic Children’s Session on June 12th under the chairmanship of the honorable Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For this special session, 68 children were selected from across the country, the process of which lasted for a total of three months. The selected “child representatives” were seen vocalizing their issues in the Vidhansabha Bhawan located in Shimla. Aditya, studying in Pachhad’s GSSS Kotia Bangi School, was also selected for this session in which he played the role of the MLA of the opposition.

Sitting in the opposition, Aditya placed his suggestion to the government under Rule 324. He said that – “I am present in this house today to present a proposal to the Honorable Health Minister for the digitization of the medical system of our state. We have medical system at two levels , the first at the district level, where we can see that almost all the districts have developed hospitals and Shimla district has some of the best medical institutions in the state. On the contrary, when we look at the Tehsil and village level, we come to know that in majority of the cases , there are many shortcomings in the medical system, with some places not having even a PHC. There are places with no doctors , and some without a 24 hour medical facility. At places, which have 24 medical facilities, there is lack of required equipments . There are many such flaws in our health care system.”

In this Children’s Assembly, the Chief Minister of the state , Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was present as the Chief Guest and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Mr. Harivansh Narayan Singh also witnessed this session as the special guest . The special thing about this session was that the selected children played the role of Chief Minister, Leader of Opposition, Speaker and MLAs and ran the state assembly for a day.
