Bhagwant was born in Satoj village of Sangrur district of Punjab. His father was a teacher. Bhagwant Mann received his primary education from the government school in Cheema village. Bhagwant Mann completed his graduation in commerce from Shaheed Udham Singh College, Sunam.
Bhagwant Mann was a famous comedian before joining politics. You must have seen Bhagwant Mann in many famous comedy shows. He was seen in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Maan has also worked in many Punjabi films.
Bhagwant Mann entered politics in the year 2011. In early 2011, Mann joined the People’s Party of Punjab. In 2012, he contested from Lehra constituency but lost. In March 2014, Mann joined Aam Aadmi Party and contested from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency and won by 211,721 votes. In the 2019 general elections, Mann won from Sangrur for the second time in a row. He was the only MP from the Aam Aadmi Party in the Lok Sabha. Bhagwant Mann contested the 2022 Punjab assembly elections from Dhuri where he won a historic victory by 58,206 votes. The Aam Aadmi Party secured a majority in these elections and Mann was sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab.
