Shimla’s Khushi expressed her views on first aid…

Every school should organize a program on the subject of medicine

children’s writer Khushi

We all have been hurt at one time or another. Who is most useful to us at that time? For most of us the answer would be those who help us. But what if these helpers do not have the knowledge of giving first aid? ‘World First Aid Day’ is celebrated to increase the knowledge and awareness of this medicine.

World First Aid Day was started by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in 2000. Since then, World First Aid Day is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of September.

The pain of minor to major injuries can be reduced with the help of proper medical knowledge. But it is very unfortunate that ninety-eight (98) percent of the people in India do not know this meaningful ‘Vedagya’. It is very important to bring awareness among such people because these people cannot always get the right help. It takes only 1-2 hours to learn this simple information and 5-6 hours to learn it seriously. Instead of watching YouTube for hours at home, it is better to learn such ‘Vedatva’ by which we can save our life as well as the lives of other people.

For this, every school should organize a program on the subject of medicine at least once in a month. People should be told the benefits of this knowledge with the help of other mediums like street plays. Don’t keep this information limited to yourself, because the more it is shared, the more it will grow and people will get the right help! By making people aware with such small steps, we can save lives around us.

So let’s celebrate this day not only to celebrate but also to increase knowledge and also help others.

Thank you.
