Jyoti Mirdha was born on 26 July 1972 in New Delhi. He has done MBBS from SMS Medical College. Jyoti came from an established political family, so she also followed in the footsteps of her ancestors. In the 2009 general elections, she reached the Lok Sabha by winning from Nagaur seat on Congress ticket. She is the granddaughter of Nathuram Mirdha, a well-known politician and popular farmer leader. He also contested the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections on Congress ticket but had to face defeat then. Before the 2023 assembly elections, she left the Congress Party and joined BJP. In the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024, BJP has made Jyoti its candidate from Nagaur seat. Now it will be interesting to see whether she is successful in registering victory this time after losing two consecutive elections.
