1946 – Indian politician Ram Vilas Paswan was born. He was born on July 5, 1946, in Shaharbanni village in Khagaria district of Bihar. He started his political career as a member of the United Socialist Party.
1947 – Lalji Singh was born on July 5, 1947, in Kalwari village in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He made significant contributions to the subjects of genetics, forensics, conservation and law.
He worked in the field of DNA fingerprinting technology in India and is known as the “Father of Indian DNA Fingerprinting”.
1949 – Shivshankar Menon was born on July 5, 1949, in Paris, France. He is an Indian diplomat who served as India’s National Security Advisor under former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh.
Earlier, he served as the top diplomat in India, Foreign Secretary. Earlier also he has been the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and Sri Lanka and Ambassador to China and Israel.
1901 – Birendranath Sarkar was born on 5 July 1901 in Bhagalpur, Bihar. He was an Indian filmmaker. He was known as the founder of New Theatres Calcutta. He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1970 and the Padma Bhushan in 1972.
