CRPF Foundation Day is celebrated on 27 July, this day is celebrated in memory of the establishment of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in 1939. CRPF is India’s largest paramilitary force, which plays an important role in maintaining internal security and law enforcement.
History of CRPF
– Established on July 27, 1939 as Crown Representative Police
– Renamed as Central Reserve Police Force in 1950
– Has been involved in various operations including counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency and disaster management
Role of CRPF_
– Maintaining law and order in disturbed areas
– Anti-terrorism and counter-terrorism operations
– Providing security to VVIPs and vital installations
– Participating in UN peacekeeping missions

– More than 3,500 personnel have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty
– CRPF has been awarded several gallantry awards including Ashok Chakra and Shaurya Chakra
