Christians all over the world celebrate ‘All Souls Day’ on 2 November every year. On this day people visit cemeteries and pay tribute to their ancestors. Everyone offers flowers on the graves of their ancestors and lights candles and prays for the peace of their souls. In many countries, on All Souls Day, souls are remembered by lighting bells and candles. In some countries, children are fed cakes and this day is celebrated. Hymns and songs related to Christianity are sung, in Mexico, people do not celebrate this day with sadness in the memory of their relatives but celebrate this day happily thinking that the souls of their relatives will be happy in heaven and will bless them.
It is also said about All Souls Day that this festival is a gift from France. It was celebrated for the first time in 998 AD. After this, this festival which was celebrated on a small scale started being celebrated all over the world within a decade and became a very special day for Christians, in which they pay tribute to their ancestors.
