Innovative campaign of Digital Baal मेला called “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” reached Jawanpura village of Viratnagar, Jaipur today on 1st November.
Jaipur. Digital Baal Mela’s innovative and educative campaign “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” was officially launched on 2nd October 2022. Due to the beginning of Panchayati Raj from Nagaur, this campaign was also started from Barangana village of Nagaur. After that, with determination to take this campaign to all over Rajasthan, “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” was taken to Rajawas village of Jaipur on 8th October, Kajra village of Jhunjhunu on 15th October, Rangaisar village of Churu on 17th October and then Rarah village of Bharatpur on 29th October. Today, on 1st November, this campaign returned to Jaipur with a “Baal Panchayat” in Viratnagar’s Jawanpura village.
Campaign’s Objective
This campaign has been started for children of age group of 6-18 years, to increase the “education, activism and participation” of children towards democracy at the Panchayat level. This will also help in preparing the children as the future representatives of the country at Panchayat level. Jawanpura Sarpanch and Rashtriya Sarpanch Sangh President Jairam Palsania and principal of Government Sr. Sec. School Sheela Meena attended as chief guests.

“Baal Panchayat” was organised
A “Baal Panchayat” was also organised in Jawanpura village of Viratnagar in Jaipur under “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign, for which, abour 320 children took part enthusiastically. In this Baal Panchayat, organised for the children, they were given information about the Panchayati Raj system, functions and rights of Sarpanch, functioning of Gram Panchayat etc. The children present in this Baal Panchayat also got an opportunity to tell that if they become Sarpanch in future, how will they work and what changes they will try to bring in the village. They also brought up issues such as child marriage, foeticide, casteism, untouchability and water problem. Not only this, a “Baal Sarpanch” competition was also organised for these children. In this, 17 children from “Baal Panchayat” came up as candidates for “Baal Sarpanch”, Live voting was done by other children present in the Baal Panchayat, on the basis of which the winning candidate will be elected as “Baal Sarpanch” from Jawanpura. With this process, children will get information about voting and their interest in this field will also increase. Selected children will get to attend state level program organised by Digital Baal Mela. Second position child will be elected as Baal Up-Sarpanch and third position child will be elected as Baal Panch.
