On November 5th, under the campaign ‘Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch’ of Digital Baal Mela, children raised many important issues in ‘Baal Panchayat’, held in Chardana village of Baran. Which issues? Let’s get to know.
Jaipur. Under the partnership of Digital Baal Mela and UNICEF, an innovative and educative campaign ‘Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch’ was started for children of 6-18 years, arrived in Baran district. Chardana village of Baran was selected for this event and a ‘Baal Panchayat’ was also organised for children of the village, in which, Sarpanch Krishna Murari Dilawar also participated.
Important issues discussed in Baal Panchayat of Chardana
More than 200 children participated in Baal Panchayat of Chardana. These children got an opportunity to learn about Panchayati Raj and the democratic system at the village level. In this Baal Panchayat, children also participated in the quiz related to Panchayati Raj and out of them all, 7 children presented their claim to become ‘Baal Sarpanch’. These children told that if they were Sarpanch, or become Sarpanch in future, how would they work and what changes they would try to bring in the village. These children also threw light on many important issues of their village in Baal Panchayat. These issues are as follows….
● Cleanliness.
● Health.
● Education.
● Organic farming.
● Livestock rearing.
After children threw light on these issues, Sarpanch also assured to work on them and make the system better. Live voting was done by other children in this Baal Panchayat of Chardana, on the basis of which, winning candidate will be elected as ‘Baal Sarpanch’. Elected Baal Sarpanch will get an opportunity to participate in the state level program organised by Digital Baal Mela. Second position child candidate will be elected as Baal Up-Sarpanch and third position child candidate will be elected as Baal Panch.
