On the occasion of International Children’s Day, Digital Baal Mela organised a Baal Panchayat in Jaipur. But what was the purpose of this Baal Panchayat? Let’s get to know.
Jaipur. International Children’s Day is celebrated worldwide on 20th November. Keeping this in mind, Digital Baal Mela organised a Baal Panchayat in Jaipur on 19th November. This Baal Panchayat for children was organised on the lines of Gram Panchayat held in villages. In this Baal Panchayat, about 50 children were invited from Baal Panchayats of Jairampura and Rajawas villages of Jaipur. Jairampura’s Baal Sarpanch Payal Jabadoliya along with Village Sarpanch Piyush Nitharwal and Rajawas’ Baal Sarpanch Jaishankar Meena and Village Sarpanch Minakshi Meena also attended it. In this program, Panchayati Raj Minister of Rajasthan Government Ramesh Chand Meena and Communication Specialist of UNICEF India Ankush Singh attended as chief guests.
What was the purpose of this Baal Panchayat?
The purpose of this Baal Panchayat organised by Digital Baal Mela was to increase the awareness of Panchayati Raj among the rural children as well as to increase their participation in the democracy system at village level. Digital Baal Mela has earlier organised Baal Panchayats in both these villages, but this Baal Panchayat was quite different. In this Baal Panchayat, children got a chance to interact directly with Panchayati Raj Minister of Rajasthan, Ramesh Chand Meena. He listened to the children, answered their questions and told them many new educative things and guided them. UNICEF communications specialist Ankush Singh spoke in favor of children’s rights. Not only this, a drama was also staged to make children understand about the three-tier Panchayat system properly.
