Jaipur. On December 5, in the “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign, 3-time MLA from Phulera Nirmal Kumawat had a direct dialogue with “Baal Sarpanchs”. The topic of this online session was “the role of children in Panchayati Raj”. They were the same Baal Sarpanch children who were selected from the Baal Panchayats held across Rajasthan.
This online session was moderated by Priya Sharma of Digital Baal Mela, along with Jitesh Dudi of Churu and Lalita Babal of Nagaur, who welcomed guests and gave an introduction of Digital Baal Mela.During his interaction with the children , MLA Kumawat encouraged the children to be active in their area, know about the problems and also attend village meetings to know about the burning issues .
In this online dialogue session held at 6 pm, the children also asked many questions to the MLA.
Paras of Hanumangarh questioned why gram panchayats do not have their own source of income like state governments. Responding to this Kumawat ji says that it is almost impossible that the Gram Panchayats can run with their own income because most of the Gram Panchayats in India do not have that much development and business Opportunities.
In this session, Ramakant, From Karauli, asked questions on the loss caused to the Gram Panchayat due to ideological differences between the Sarpanch and the MLA. Responding to this he said that if the sarpanch has to reconcile with the MLA for the betterment of the village, he should do so, as well as the sarpanch is an impartial link, so there should be no question of ideological differences.
Virender also asked the MLA why the voting is not counted manually, to which he replied that the organization conducting the voting is an independent body and it decides on its own when the voting will be counted. Along with this, the counting of votes is done secretly due to the Fear of votes being tampered.
Lalita Babal of Nagaur also raised a question in this session, she asked why the ward meeting is not organized. In response to this, the MLA said that perhaps there is no such provision in the Panchayati Raj system, but you are correct in saying that Ward Sabha is a distant thing, Ward Panch was not even present in Gram Sabha. Sarpanches should take responsibility for this.
For your information, let us tell you that children from 7 divisions of Rajasthan were involved in this program which lasted for a total of 1 hour.
