A One day workshop for media persons to increase gender sensitivity today

Journalists will know how to give priority to women’s issues

Jaipur. UNICEF and Future Society’s new initiative “Gender Sensitive Rajasthan” is going to be launched on 2nd November. This one-day training workshop will be organized at Indira Gandhi Institute of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development from 11 am. In which stalwarts from the media world will participate.

In this workshop, senior journalists and educationists of the state will train budding journalists and media personnel on the subject of “gender sensitivity”.

While training, they will be told how women’s rights, women’s equality and women’s issues can be put before the society with the help of various mediums of media. How can journalists play an active role in this and why is it important to bring these issues to the fore for the all-round development of the society.

In this special training workshop, Mrs. Ritu Shukla, Additional Director General (regional), PIB Rajasthan, Mrs. Isabelle Bardam, Head of UNICEF Rajasthan Office, senior journalist Mr. Tribhuvan and JECRC Educational Institute were present as key speakers. Chief Shri Amit Aggarwal will be involved.

In this one-day workshop, which will be organized for journalists working in various institutions from print media to TV and digital, a training session will also be organized by Naseeruddin, a senior journalist associated with BBC.

How can journalists highlight aspects related to women through digital medium while reporting? There will be a special discussion on this topic by experts. Also, work will be done towards making children, parents and teachers “gender sensitive”.

President of The Future Society, Shri Sushil Kumar Sharma said that this one-day training is being organized under the “Gender Sensitive Rajasthan” campaign. Under this campaign, many such trainings, sessions and workshops will be organized during the next 5 months. In which efforts to engage the society on this topic through media will be discussed.
