Suggestions given to the government under rule 324.

Shimla. On June 12, the state witnessed a historic Children’s Session presided over by the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For this special session, 68 children were selected from across the country, the process of which lasted for a total of three months. “Child representatives” were seen raising their voices on child issues in Shimla Vidhansabha Bhavan. Arunoday Sharma of Shimla was selected for this session and got the charge of Social Justice and Welfare Minister. Arunoday put his point in front of the House under rule 324. Arunoday talked about giving priority and special incentives to the parents who adopt disabled children in the benefits of government schemes. Along with this, Arunodaya suggested the government to work to increase the number of government ashrams and schools for disabled children. Arunoday also expressed concern over the increasing number of destitute elders and demanded that a policy should be made to get destitute elders ‘adopted’ in homes without grandparents.
In this session, Chief Minister of the state Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Mr. Harivansh Narayan Singh as special guests attended the session. The special feature of this session was that the children played the role of Chief Minister, Leader of Opposition, स्पीकर, and all the posts and ran the state assembly for a day.
