Jaipur: In the first week of 2023, the children of Digital Baal Mela made a historic debut. The “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign, which was started in association with UNICEF in the year 2022, was successful in taking it one step further in the year 2023. When the children decided to attend the Gram Panchayat Bhavan to bring their issues before the Gram Panchayat and to understand the functioning of the Gram Panchayat, the Sarpanch also organized a meeting for these children to increase the enthusiasm of the children of his Panchayat.
The meeting was attended by Payal Singh as “Baal Sarpanch”, Aarti Rathore as “Baal Up Sarpanch” and Kumkum Sharma as Baal Panch. In this meeting, these children put the problems of their village in front of Sarpanch ji and demanded immediate redressal. Along with this, Sarpanch Mrs. Kusum Rarah invited the children to participate in the meetings to be held in future. Not only this, Baal Sarpanch Payal Singh also presided over this meeting. In this meeting, along with all the members of the Gram Panchayat, the presence of all these children was also ensured. In fact, 10 Baal Panchayats were organized in all seven divisions of Rajasthan by Digital Baal Mela and UNICEF. In these Baal Panchayats, children had elected “Child Representatives” through live voting. Sarpanches in all these Baal Panchayats had promised that all the elected child representatives would participate in the meetings held in the Gram Panchayats and represent the children of their Panchayats.

Digital Baal Mela has already organized a historic children’s session in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on November 14, 2021, in which the children, by becoming Chief Minister, Speaker, Minister and MLA, conducted the proceedings of the Assembly for a day. Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Dr. CP Joshi had given this golden opportunity to the children.
