History of International Day Against Drug Abuse
At present, a large number of adults and children consume drugs. In simple words, drug addiction has increased among children. For this, children are resorting to all kinds of drugs. Due to ignorance, they are getting trapped in that quagmire. This is having a very bad effect on their health and career. Due to excessive consumption, illegal trafficking is also happening fiercely. In view of this, the United Nations presented a proposal on 7 September 1987 to make the society drug free. In this proposal, it was said to celebrate International Drug Prohibition Day on 26 June, which was passed unanimously by all the countries. After this, International Drug Prohibition Day was celebrated for the first time on 26 June 1989. Since then, it is celebrated every year on 26 June.
