Jaipur| A total of 68 children got the opportunity to raise the issues of children through the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Baal Satra , organized by Digital Baal Mela . In this special session , the children gave suggestions to the government on issues ranging from stress to sports. In this assembly the proceedings of question hour and Rule 324 of the Vidhansabha were carried out by the child legislators.
During the proceedings of Rule 324 in the session, the issue of rising accidents in the state was raised . Arju Sharma, the child MLA of Seraj Mandi , was given a chance to present her point in front of the House which was then presided by Deputy Speaker Raghav Kalla.
Child MLA Arju Suggestion-
Addressing the House, she said- “Every day three to people lose their lives in road accidents in our state. In such a situation, the government needs to take necessary steps to reduce accidents. For this, crash barriers should be installed on the state highways. Due to lack of road lights at night, road accidents are increasing, so the state government should also work for the provision of solar powered road lights. Everyone in the house was aware of the rising cases of accidents and therefore , the state government should lay emphasis on strengthening the transport facilities. Along with this, more tax should be imposed on private vehicles coming from outside the state, this will also provide employment to the taxi drivers of the state, and the number of vehicles which are increasing day by day will also decrease.
Janhvi Sharma, the founder of Digital Baal Mela, told that 21 suggestions were given by the child legislators and ministers in the historic Baal Satra of Himachal Pradesh. Along with this, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who attended the session as the chief guest, assured to look into these suggestions and implement them .
