Jaipur: The whole world celebrated New Year’s eve. There were various ways in which people welcomed 2023. The same diversity was seen in the children’s new year celebrations. Kautilya Vyas from Jodhpur, who has been with Digital Baal Mela for a long now, and a student of class 3, Mayur were the ones to immensely enjoy. Also, there were Lakshmi Soni, Tanishka Soni, Jigar Mathur from Faridabad, Ronit Jain from Jaipur, Ananya Kaushik, Aarti Rathod from Bharatpur, Shanum Akhtar from Delhi, Pali’s Ravindra Banjara and others to be warm wishers.
Digital Baal Mela was started in 2022 for the children stressed due to covid and brought out their talents, by one of them – A student in Grade 7th, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidhyalaya, Janhvi Sharma. In the first season of the campaign, 10 competitions were held for children with the theme covid awareness whereas, in the second, children were given the golden opportunity to express their thoughts on the government and visit the Vidhansabha. The ‘Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch’ Campaign was started on 15th August 2022 wherein 10 Baal Panchayats were conducted division-wise in all of Rajasthan. The ones selected through election among the children in these ceremonies were the ones present in the Children’s Convention at the Culmination Ceremony.
