Diabetes Awareness Day India is striving to become a major economic power in the world in the coming times, thanks to its young population, but the fear of sweet poison slowly flowing in the veins of a large part of this young population is keeping experts awake, because this part of the population will be the most productive for the economy. According to experts, the increase in the number of diabetes patients in the coming times is a matter of concern, but the real reason for concern is the age group of people who are most affected by this disease. In the West, most people get diabetes in the sixth decade of their life, while in India the rate of this disease is highest in the age group of 30 to 45 years. According to diabetes experts, the number of people suffering from diabetes for the first time in Western countries is more than sixty years. This means that in these countries diabetes is less affecting those people who are the productive force of the country. In India the picture is completely opposite. Dr. Jhingan, who has written a book on diabetes, said that the important fact about diabetes in India is that this disease is affecting the youth as well as the urban population more. This means that we have to raise awareness about diabetes on a large scale in cities and motivate people to change their lifestyle. He said that even today people in rural areas consume a lot of desi ghee and heavy food, but the cases of diabetes are less in these areas as compared to urban areas, because they still live a hard life. On the contrary, urban life has reduced the possibilities of physical labor of man to a great extent. He said that in urban life people are becoming very careless in terms of food. The amount of fried foods, processed canned foods is increasing in our food. In our lifestyle, we are also harboring all kinds of stress, whether we want it or not. Due to all these reasons, it is natural for urban people to have diabetes.
