On June 12, the state witnessed a historic Baal Satra presided over by the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For this special session, 68 children were selected from across the country, the process of which lasted for a total of three months. In this session, the selected “child representatives” were seen raising their voice on child issues in the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan in Shimla.
Eva studying at Jindal Vidya Mandir School of Kinnaur was also selected for this session. She was seen playing the role of an MLA of the opposition. Eva had sent her entry to the Digital Baal Mela in which she presented her claim for the Home Minister. In her entry, she said “If I become the Home Minister, I will try my best to improve the national and international relations of the country”.,
In this session, Chief Minister of the state Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Mr. Harivansh Narayan Singh were present as special guests. The special thing about this session was that children were seen running the state assembly for a day, playing the roles of all the posts including Chief Minister, Leader-Opposition, and Speaker.
