Jaipur|When the opposition raised questions on the deteriorating financial condition of Himachal Pradesh, everybody in the house stunned into silence. It happened on the occasion of the first Vidhansabha Baal Satra of Himachal Pradesh held on 12th June in which all the big leaders of the state came . All of them were present at the Vidhansabha Bhavan in Shimla to witness the historic Baal Satra of the state.

The proceedings of the question hour were being carried out in this session. During the question hour, the member of the opposition and elected child MLA from Bilaspur, Shalini Thakur asked what steps are being taken to eliminate the debt of 75,000 crores on the state. She questioned the state government’s decision to impose the OPS scheme in the state considering the excessive financial burden on the state and unnecessary amount of money spent on the government employees. Hearing this , the leaders of the ruling party seemed uncomfortable.

But the answers of Child Finance Minister and Child MLA from Paonta Sahib , Faizan khan gave them some relief. He addressed the Child Speaker Lavish Negi and told that the state government is doing its best to eliminate the debt of 75,000 crores on the state. In order to fill the fiscal gap left by the previous governments, the Honorable Chief Minister has recently visited Delhi after meeting the Central Ministers. The lease of the Shanan Power Project, which is ending in 2024, is currently in the hands of the Punjab government. The state government is also trying to bring it to Himachal Pradesh.

Along with this, while answering section 2 and 3 of the question, he said that the reason for the implementation of OPS by the state government is to secure the future of lakhs of employees working day and night for the development of the state, while finance is a serious ministry. The state touches the heights of development only through its proper managemen and so , the department keeps an account of every amount spent by all the employees of the state government . He claimed that not a single penny of the government is unnecessarily spent in the state.

Priya Sharma, co-founder of Digital Baal Mela, told that financial crisis is a serious problem in Himachal Pradesh. Children’s representatives are also not untouched by this, in such a situation, raising this question by them is to assure the government that the future generation also thinks about improving the financial conditions of the state and is aware of the problems going on in the state. The honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was also present in this session as the chief guest and he greatly appreciated this “Baal Satra”.
