Digital Baal Mela in association with UNICEF has started a unique campaign for children called “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch”. In this campaign, Digital Baal Mela will work to make the children of Rajasthan villages aware about the Panchayati Raj system. Under this initiative, the Baal Panchayat leaders of this campaign will also play an important role in connecting the children with “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign.
Jaipur. Panchayati Raj system was established to run the governance system smoothly in the rural areas of India. For the successful operation of this system, along with adult participation, child participation should also be taken into consideration. To ensure the child participation, Digital Baal Mela in association with UNICEF has started “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign for the children of the villages of Rajasthan. Through this campaign, Digital Baal Mela works to make the children of rural areas of Rajasthan aware about the Panchayati Raj system of the state. Under this campaign, children from 11,283 panchayats of the state will get a chance to become Baal Sarpanch. Along with those children, Baal Panchayat Leaders also have an important role in the participation of Baal Sarpanch in this campaign. Let’s know about these Bal Panchayat Leaders.
Who are the Baal Panchayat Leaders?
Digital Baal Mela had earlier organised “Bacchhon ki Vidhansabha” (Children’s Assembly) on the occasion of Children’s Day on 14th November 2021 at Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha Bhawan for about an hour. 200 children from across the country participated in this campaign. Out of these, about 10 children have been selected as Baal Panchayat Leaders on the basis of their videos.

What will be the role of Baal Panchayat Leaders?
In the democracy, the way the king-maker is considered bigger than the king himself. In the same way, these little Baal Panchayat Leaders will also play the role of king-maker in “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign. These Baal Panchayat Leaders have been made the leaders of their Block/Panchayat area. In such situation, it will be the responsibility of these little leaders to connect more and more children with “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign. For this, they can talk to their siblings, friends, children of their school as well as the children of nearby schools about this campaign. For this, these Baal Panchayat Leaders can take the help of their school principal, teachers as well as the Sarpanch of their Panchayat and by organising Baal Panchayats, and ensure their participation in it. Along with this, Baal Panchayat Leaders can also involve in this campaign by spreading their message to more and more children through posters and pamphlets.
