Know about International Tiger Day.

International Tiger Day, or Global Tiger Day, was first proposed during the St. Petersburg Tiger Summit in Russia in 2010.
On this day, Tiger Range Countries (TRCs) gathered to address the alarming decline in tiger numbers around the world.
Several countries agreed to join an agreement to protect tigers.
These countries included thirteen tiger range countries, including India, Russia and China. At the St. Petersburg Summit, countries committed to a resolution to double the number of tigers by 2022, which is also the Chinese Year of the Tiger. Since then, International Tiger Day is celebrated every year.
In view of the decline in the number of tigers, International Tiger Day is celebrated every year on 29 July with the aim of saving them.
This day is even more special for India, because the tiger is not only the national animal of India, but more than 70% of the world’s tigers are found in India.
In such a situation, to celebrate Tiger Day, you can visit different tiger reserves present here.
Project Tiger was started in India in 1973 with a unique plan to save tigers. In its initial years, there were 9 tiger reserves but over time the scope of the tiger project has increased significantly.
The tiger is still classified as ‘endangered’. Tigers have been lost by 93 percent and the number of tigers has come down from 100,000 a century ago. Poaching and habitat destruction are among the major reasons. Celebrating World Tiger Day is important because according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), only 3900 wild tigers exist worldwide. It is important to focus on the matter of tiger conservation as it plays a vital role in maintaining and maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.
