The International Labor Union (ILO) had raised the issue of stopping child labor for the first time, after which a law was unanimously passed in the year 2002 under which making children below the age of 14 years work was considered a crime. The International Labor Union (ILO) has 187 member countries. ILO has passed many conventions to improve the labor conditions in the world. Moreover, it also keeps giving necessary guidelines on matters like wages, working hours, favorable environment, etc.

In 1973, people’s attention was focused on the minimum age for employment by adopting ILO Convention No. 138. The purpose of which was to increase the minimum age of employment to the member states and eliminate child labor.
