Digital Baal Mela’s innovative campaign “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” reached Kajra village of Jhunjhunu, today on 15th October.
Jaipur. “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign, which officially started on 2nd October, reached Kajra village of Jhunjhunu today on 15th October. Digital Baal Mela has joined hands with UNICEF for this campaign for children.
Campaign’s main objective
This campaign has been started for children of age group of 6-18 years, to increase the “education, activism and participation” of children towards democracy at the Panchayat level. This will also help in preparing the children as the future representatives of the country at Panchayat level. Sarpanch of Kajra, Manju Tanwar, attended the program organised under this campaign as the Chief Guest. Along with her, Pilani SHO Ranjit Sevada and Surajgarh SHO Mukesh Kumar also attended this program as chief guests.
“Baal Panchayat” took place
A “Baal Panchayat” was also organised in Kajra under the “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign, for which, children looked enthusiastic. Over 200 children attended it. In this Baal Panchayat, organised for the children, they were given information about the Panchayati Raj system, functions and rights of Sarpanch, functioning of Gram Panchayat etc. The children present in this Baal Panchayat also got an opportunity to tell that if they become Sarpanch in future, how will they work and what changes they will try to bring in the village. Not only this, a “Baal Sarpanch” competition was also organised for these children. In this, some children from “Baal Panchayat” came up as candidates for “Baal Sarpanch”, Live voting was done by other children present in the Baal Panchayat, on the basis of which the winning candidate will be elected as “Baal Sarpanch” from Kajra “Baal Panchayat”. With this process, children will get information about voting and their interest in this field will also increase. Selected children will get to attend state level program organised by Digital Baal Mela. Second position child will be elected as Baal Up-Sarpanch and third position child will be elected as Baal Panch.
