Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch: Girls from Churu showed leadership quality

Digital Baal Mela’s innovative and first of its kind campaign called “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” reached in Rangaisar village of Churu,yyesterday on 17th October. On this occasion a “Baal Panchayat” was also organised for children at Rangaisar.

Jaipur. On 2nd October 1959, for the first time in modern India, Panchayati Raj was implemented from Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Exactly 63 years after this, on October 2nd 2022, “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign officially started from Barangana in Nagaur, Rajasthan. It’s a unique campaign for children. After this, the campaign reached Rajawas village of Jaipur on 8th October, Kajra village of Jhunjhunu on 15th October and then on 17th October, this campaign reached Rangaisar village of Churu. Digital Baal Mela has joined hands with UNICEF for this innovative campaign. A “Baal Panchayat” was also organised for the children on this occasion, in which, Rangaisar Sarpanch Gumani Devi, Sarpanch representative Dularam Meghwal, Gram Vikas Officer Mahendra Meena, Panchayat Samiti member Mohan Lala Bana attended as chief guests.

Churu’s girls showed leadership quality

 230 children took part in “Baal Panchayat” of Rangaisar. A “Baal Sarpanch” competition also took place for these children. In this, 8 girls presented their claim for the post of “Baal Sarpanch” and told that if they were Sarpanch, what would they do to bring change in their area and solve the problems. By doing so, girls of Churu showed their leadership qualitiy. For these candidates, other children present in panchayat did live voting and voted for their favorite candidate. Candidate with the maximum number of votes will be elected as “Baal Sarpanch” from Rangaisar and will get a chance to sit and speak in future Panchayats. Not only this, she will also get an opportunity to participate in the state level program. Second position girl will be elected as Baal Up-Sarpanch and third position girl will be elected as Baal Panch.
