Digital Baal Mela’s innovative campaign “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” reached Rarah village of Bharatpur, yesterday on 29th October. On this occasion, a “Baal Panchayat” was also organised in Rarah.
Jaipur. On 2nd October 1959, for the first time in modern India, Panchayati Raj was started from Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Exactly 63 years after this, on October 2nd, 2022, “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign was officially started from Barangana in Nagaur, Rajasthan. This campaign then reached Rajawas village in Jaipur on 8th October, Kajra village in Jhunjhunu on 15th October, Rangaisar village in Churu on 17 October and then on 29th October, this campaign reached Rarah village in Bharatpur. Digital Baal Mela has joined hands with UNICEF for this innovative campaign for children. On this occasion, a “Baal Panchayat” was also organised for children, in which Sarpanch Kusum Singh of Rarah village, Sarpanch representative Mohan Rao, Rarah Up (Deputy Sarpanch Prem Singh, Panch Mangilal of Rarah village, Panch Shivram of Burwai village, Rarah village Development Officer Bhudev Singh and Child Development Project Officer of Kumher Mahendra Awasthi attended as chief guests.
Problem of education and electricity supply was raised as an issue
In this “Baal Panchayat” in Rarah village under “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign, more than 150 children participated enthusiastically. 20 children presented their claim for “Baal Sarpanch” and told that if they were sarpanch, or become sarpanch in future, how would they work and what changes they would try to bring in the village. In this hour long session, these child candidates talked about negligence of Bharatpur division and raised issues like the carelessness of teachers of the village and no action being taken by the department, as well as the problem of electricity supply in their village. Assuring early redressal of these issues, Sarpanch also talked about including elected Baal Sarpanch from Rarah in all Gram Sabhas to be held from now on. For all child candidates, live voting was done by other children present in the Panchayat, on the basis of which, winning candidate would be elected as “Baal Sarpanch” from Rarah. With this process, children will get to know about voting and their interest in this field will also increase. Along with this, child elected as Baal Sarpanch through this campaign will also participate in the state level program organised by Digital Baal Mela. Second position child will be elected as Baal Up-Sarpanch and third position child will be elected as Baal Panch.
