‘Main Bhi Bal Sarpanch’ campaign has entered Jodhpur division for the first time today. Under this, a ‘Baal Panchayat’ was organised in Rohat village of Pali.
Jaipur. Today on 7th November, ‘Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch’, an innovative campaign of Digital Baal Mela, has finally arrived in Jodhpur division. Under this, Rohat village of Pali district was selected and a ‘Baal Panchayat’ was organised for the children. Children’s commission chairperson Sangeeta Beniwal and Rohat sarpanch Bharat Kumar Patel attended this Bal Panchayat as chief guests.
Children made their voices heard
Digital Baal Mela has joined hands with UNICEF for ‘Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch’ campaign. Under this, a ‘Baal Panchayat’ was organised for the children in Rohat. About 500 children took part in this and learned about Panchayati Raj, democratic system at village level, rights, responsibilities, work of Sarpanch and ‘education, activism and participation’. Also, some children took part in ‘Baal Sarpanch’ competition and raised the issues of their village. Along with this, they also told how would they have worked if they were Sarpanch. Live voting was done by other children for these child candidates, on the basis of which, child candidate who comes first place will be elected as Baal Sarpanch from Rohat. He/she will get a chance to participate in the upcoming Panchayats in thier village and give their suggestions. Along with this, Baal Sarpanch will also be given an opportunity to participate in the state level program of Digital Baal Mela. Second place child candidate will be elected as Baal Up-Sarpanch and third place candidate will be elected as Baal Panch.
