In ‘Main Bhi Bal Sarpanch’ campaign, girls’ predominancy was seen in ‘Baal Sarpanch’ competition.
Jaipur. Under an innovative campaign ‘Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch’, Digital Baal Mela has organised ‘Baal Panchayat’ in different divisions of Rajasthan to make children aware of the Panchayati Raj system and to involve them in democracy at the village level. Along with this, Baal Sarpanches from Baal Panchayats were also elected on the basis of live voting. But a trend was seen in this election process of Baal Sarpanches.
Girls’ predominancy
The trend seen in the election of Baal Sarpanches shows the predominancy of girls. Under this campaign, 9 Baal Panchayats have been organised so far, from which, 9 Baal Sarpanches have been elected. Out of these 9 Baal Sarpanches, 6 Baal Sarpanches are girls. That shows predominancy of girls in this campaign.
