October 2, 1959 is an important day in Indian history, and Nagaur district of Rajasthan became a witness of this historical moment. Now after 63 years, Nagaur is going to rewrite history. The objective of this historic beginning is to “enhance the participation of children in democracy”.
Jaipur. Most of the people in the country know 2nd October as Gandhi Jayanti. But this day is very important day in Indian history. It was on this day that the first Panchayati Raj system was implemented in modern India. And Nagaur of Rajasthan became witness of this historical moment. On this day in 1959, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first and then Prime Minister, first implemented the Panchayati Raj system in Bagdhari village of Nagaur. This day is written in golden letters in Indian history. Now after 63 years, Nagaur is going to rewrite history, and not only Rajasthan, but entire country is going to be witness of it. The purpose of this historic launch is “to increase the participation of children in democracy”.

History will be written once again in Nagaur through “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign
On October 2, 2022, “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign will be officially launched in Nagaur itself, for which the Barangana Panchayat area of Nagaur has been selected. The chief guests of this launching program will be Hanuman Choudhary, Sarpanch of Barangana and Isabel Bardam, UNICEF chief of Rajasthan. Through this unique campaign for children, Digital Baal Mela and UNICEF will work to make children aware about the Panchayati Raj system of the country as well as give them a democratic understanding.
Basic objective of the campaign
The basic objective of this campaign “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” of Digital Baal Mela is “to increase the participation of children in democracy”. If it is simply summed up in three words, it is “education, activism and participation”. Through this campaign Digital Baal Mela will help in imparting Panchayati Raj education to the children. This will increase the awareness among the children as well as increase their activism in the Panchayat system of their area. As a result, children’s interest in this will increase and their participation in the village panchayat will increase as well. This will also help in preparing the future representatives of the country.
