Jaipur. Himachal Pradesh cabinet minister Anirudh Singh interacted with children of Digital Baal Mela for two hours on Saturday. From the participation of children in the Panchayati Raj system to the development of Gram Panchayat , over 200 children participated in an in-depth discussion which was organized under the campaign Baccho Ki Sarkar Kaisi Ho?
Interaction Session-
At the beginning of the session, Panchayati Raj Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mr. Anirudh Singh shared his political journey with the children and told how and why he entered politics. After this the series of questions started which lasted for more than two hours. This session on Google Meet was also live on the social media handles of Digital Baal Mela. It is notable that so far more than 10,000 children of Himachal Pradesh have joined these special sessions.
Questions asked by the children in the session:
Question – Question asked by Achyutam Tiwari of Ajmer – •What steps have been taken by the government to stop corruption at the Panchayati Raj level and at the same time how can the common citizen raise their voice on such issues ?
Answer– Responding to this, the Honorable Minister said that in order to curb corruption in the Panchayati Raj system, the government has brought the purpose of geo-tagging, online functioning, and online presence, through which the works being done in rural areas can be monitored. Along with this, he told that through RTI, a citizen can get information about the works being done in his area and can complain to the court or official department if the work is done only on paper.
Question – Nivedita Jasta, a resident of Himachal Pradesh , asked – What is the reason for the low growth rate and development in the Panchayat Raj system?
Answer– Answering this, Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh said that the Sarpanch/Pradhan is responsible for the development of any Gram Panchayat. In such a situation, if development is not happening in your village, then you should raise questions on your sarpanch and if the work is not done, the right sarpanch candidate should win in the next elections.
Leader of the Day-
Significantly, in today’s session Achyutam Tiwari of Ajmer was chosen as the Leader of the Day by the honourable guest as he impressed the cabinet minister with his question. Not only this, questions were also raised on women’s participation , in response to which the minister told that 50 percent seats have been reserved to ensure women’s participation in Panchayati Raj elections. The children also asked questions on the issue of child participation, while answering this MLA Anirudh Singh promised to take steps to ensure child participation.
Campign-
Janhvi Sharma , the Founder of Digital Baal Mela hosted the session and. told the children how a special ” Vidhan Sabha Baal Session” will be organized on June 12 under the campaign Bacchon ki Sarkar Kaisi Ho? This session will be organized under the aegis of Himachal Pradesh Education Department in the presence of HP Assembly Speaker Mr. Kuldeep Singh Pathania and Chief Minister Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

Kullu Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Garg have also joined.
