Recently assembly elections have been held in three states. BJP has formed government by securing majority in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The appointments of Chief Ministers in all the three states have surprised everyone. In Rajasthan, BJP elected Bhajanlal Sharma as the leader of the legislature party. Bhajanlal Sharma reached the Assembly for the first time by being elected MLA from Sanganer Assembly seat of Jaipur.
Sharma was born in Nadbai, Bharatpur to Kishan Swaroop Sharma and Gomti Devi. If we talk about his education, he has done MA in Political Science from Rajasthan University.
On December 12, 2023, he was elected as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Along with this, two Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa have also been elected by the party. Bhajan Lal Sharma was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan on 15 December 2023.
Sharma started his political career from his school days through the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and became the sarpanch of his native village at the age of 27.
Sharma contested the 2003 assembly elections from Nadbai Assembly constituency of Bharatpur on a Rajasthan Samajik Nyay Manch (RSNM) ticket and stood fifth, getting around 5,900 votes and forfeited his deposit with 6.28% vote share.
In 2023, Bhajan Lal Sharma contested the Rajasthan Assembly elections from Sanganer constituency. Contesting against Congress Party candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj, he won by a margin of 48801 votes. After this, BJP chose him as the leader of its legislative party.
