 In the recently concluded Rajasthan Assembly elections, BJP won with a majority. BJP created a lot of suspense before announcing the name of its legislature party leader. After this, BJP made Bhajanlal Sharma the Chief Minister. Along with this, two Deputy Chief Ministers of Rajasthan also took oath, the names of Dr. Premchand Bairwa and Diya Kumar. In this article, let us know about the newly elected Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Dr. Premchand Bairwa.

 Dr. Premchand Bairava comes from a Dalit family and started his political journey from ABVP. He first worked in the block organization in 1995.

 He served as Zilla Parishad member from Ward 15 of Dudu in 2000. After this, he also worked as SC Morcha Jaipur District President and Mandal General Secretary of BJP.

  In 2013, when Dudu was reserved for the SC category, he contested the assembly elections for the first time and won.

 Bairava holds a PhD degree from Rajasthan University, Jaipur.

 The 49-year-old MLA had won the seat in the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly elections by defeating Congress candidate Babulal Nagar by a slim margin of 35,743 votes. Earlier, Bairava had won the Dudu constituency in 2013 by defeating Congress candidate Hazari Lal Nagar by a margin of 33,720 votes. However, he lost to Congress candidate Babu Lal Nagar from Dudu constituency in 2018 by a margin of 14,779 votes.

 Bairava is considered the Dalit face of the Rajasthan unit of the party.
