On 12 June, the state witnessed a historic Children’s Session presided over by the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For this special session, 68 children were selected from across the country, the process of which lasted for a total of three months. The “Child Representative” was seen vocalizing his voice on child issues in the Vidhan Sabha Bhavan located in Shimla. Priyanshu Bhatt, who was studying in the school, was also selected for this session in which he played the role of the MLA of the opposition.
Sitting in the opposition, Priyanshu suggested to the government under Rule 324 that – “Sir, legal cultivation of the hemp plant will crack down on illegal cultivation, as well as the state’s revenue will benefit.”
If the farming is done legally, the farmers doing hemp farming will get more value for their farming as well as smugglers will be stopped.
Many types of medicines and clothes are also made from hemp plants, due to which it is possible to build small-scale industries in the state.
Along with this, the economic burden due to this illegal business on the law and order of the state will also come down….”
In this session, the Chief Minister of the state Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Mr. Harivansh Narayan Singh as a special guest attended the session. The special thing about this session was that the children played the role of Chief Minister, Leader-Opposition, Speaker and all the posts and ran the state assembly for a day.
