Jaipur: Pushkar Singh Dhami was born on 16 September 1975. At this time, Uttarakhand was not a separate state and was included in Uttar Pradesh itself. Pushkar Singh Dhami entered student politics from Lucknow University and held various positions in ABVP. The achievement of being the convenor of the national convention of ABVP in Lucknow is recorded in his account. Pushkar Singh Dhami was also the UP State General Secretary of ABVP. After the formation of a separate state of Uttarakhand in 2000, he remained OSD to CM Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Apart from this, Dhami was the state president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha twice from 2002 to 2008. Along with this, Dhami is also currently the State Vice President of Uttarakhand of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In the 2012 assembly elections, Pushkar Singh Dhami contested and won the election of MLA from Khatima. After this, in the 2017 assembly elections, Dhami joined the assembly as the MLA of Khatima. During this, Tirath Singh Rawat was made the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. In 2021, after the resignation of Tirath Singh Rawat as Chief Minister, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) elected Pushkar Singh Dhami as the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, he was sworn in as the 12th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. |
