Jaipur | School always plays an essential role in the lives of people. Half of the child’s time in childhood is spent in school only. In such a situation, it becomes the responsibility of the schools to provide such a platform to the students which can shape them and give them a good personality that will later define them. In the last 2 years, Digital Baal Mela has emerged as such a platform. In which more than 500 schools of India showed interest.
The special thing is that now the Digital Baal Mela is not limited to the cities, with “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” Campaign we are also reaching the rural areas of Rajasthan. In this campaign started by Digital Baal Mela and UNICEF, more than 50 schools showed their faith and made their children a part of “Baal Panchayats” to be held in their villages. In which the children got to know the Panchayati Raj system and also became a part of the voting process and elected their “child representatives”. Teachers were also present in “Baal Panchayats”, they also got to know the talent of their children.
The result of the trust of these schools was that for the first time we were directly present in 10 gram panchayats of Rajasthan, and more than 5000 children were present with us. Every teacher described this campaign as a useful innovation and also appreciated this campaign. Jhanvi Sharma of Digital Baal Mela told that 30 children of these schools will represent their village and division in the state level program.
