“Child MLAs” of Himachal Pradesh Vidhansabha Baal Satra organized by Digital Baal Mela under the aegis of Education Department of Himachal Pradesh are being showered with a lot of love and respect. Returning from the historic “Baal Satra” held on June 12, when the children reached their home towns , they were honoured and welcomed by relatives with garlands . Many of them were even felicitated by their teachers in the schools.

Tushar Anand of St. Mary’s Convent School, Kasauli, shared that after he played the role of Deputy Chief Minister in the Vidhansabha “Baal Satra”; Vinod Sultanpuri, MLA from Kasauli, himself came to him and took a selfie with him. This was a proud moment for Tushar Anand. Along with this, a program was organized in the school to welcome Mandi’s Arju Sharma, where she was honored. Another such welcome program was organized in the school for Kamesh Dogra, studying in Him Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Ghumarwin. Kamesh was also given a cash amount and honored with Himachali cap, the pride of the state .

Janhvi Sharma of Digital Baal Mela stated that 68 child MLAs from across the country had reached Vidhan Sabha Bhawan in Shimla on 12th of June on the occasion of “World Day against Child Labour ”. The selected children got an opportunity to raise their voices and ask questions from the government under question hour and rule 324 of the assembly. The children also gave their valuable suggestions to the government.This special children’s session was presided over by Himachal Pradesh Vidhansabha Speaker Shri Kuldeep Singh Pathania, who in his welcome address congratulated the team of Digital Baal Mela for organizing such a futuristic session.

For your information, let us tell you that the children selected in this “Baal Satra” were selected out of 1,108 children who had sent their video entries for the campaign “Bacchon ki Sarkar Kaisi Ho?” till May 25 . These children had made their video and registered it on the website of Digital Baal Mela . As a part of the selection process, a panel of 30 judges was constituted and the entries of the children were evaluated by them. This Himachal Pradesh Baal Satra was the second such session in the country and the first in the state.
