Jaipur: The caravan of “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign reached Udaipur division on Wednesday 30th November after traveling to 6 divisions of Rajasthan. “Baal Panchayat” was organized in Kauri Gram Panchayat of Dungarpur, one of the tribal areas of Rajasthan. About 300 children participated in this “Baal Panchayat”, out of which 12 children presented their claim to become “Baal Sarpanch”. While these children praised the development works of the present Sarpanch, they also made the local Sarpanch and other people’s representatives aware of their problems.
These children promised their friends to open a girls’ school, a college in their village, arrange for means of public transport, clean toilets in the school and make arrangements for sports. All these children during their claim tried to draw everyone’s attention towards the basic needs of the tribals. Also, these claimants promised to solve all these problems by becoming “Baal Sarpanch”. All the children present there voted for their favorite contender in the “Baal Sarpanch” competition. Janhavi Sharma of Digital Baal Mela told that these “child representatives” selected from all the divisions will soon reach Jaipur and will be a part of the state level program to be organized here, where they will present the problems of their gram panchayat, district and division in front of everyone. It is noteworthy that the “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign has been started by Digital Baal Mela and UNICEF from 15 August 2022.
To increase children’s political understanding, a historic children’s session has been organized on 14 November 2021. Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Dr. CP Joshi had given this historic opportunity to the children.
