The Future Society’s campaign “Gender Sensitive Rajasthan” was launched…

Journalists learned how to sharpen their pens on women’s issues.

Jaipur. The Future Society and UNICEF’s initiative “Gender Sensitive Rajasthan” were launched on November 2. On this occasion, a one-day training was organized for journalists and journalism students at Indira Gandhi Panchayat Bhawan. Through this, journalists were given training on “gender sensitivity” along with being vocal on “women’s issues”. In this training, Assistant Director General of PIB Ritu Shukla, UNICEF Rajasthan Chief Isabel Bardam, senior journalist and Assistant Professor at Haridev Joshi Journalism University Tribhuvan, senior journalist on women’s issues Naseeruddin, and President of JECRC University Amit Aggarwal participated in the training of women in society through various mediums of media. Emphasized the need for gender sensitivity.

All the speakers unanimously agreed that the media has to increase its role on this subject and make collective efforts to establish gender equality.

In this training workshop, which lasted for more than 5 hours, along with various educational activities, special films made on women’s issues and gender sensitivity were also screened. Under this training, emphasis was laid on explaining to the journalists the need to raise women’s issues as much as possible, the discrimination happening in the field, understanding the problems of women better, and their entire work from reporting to writing.

During this, Assistant Director General of PIB Rajasthan, Ritu Shukla, said that the first need is to increase the percentage of women in the media. Besides, it is important to ensure that their salaries are also equal to those of men.

On this occasion, UNICEF Rajasthan Chief Isabel Bardam said that the media can play a big role in creating an equally sensitive society in Rajasthan. And UNICEF will take this effort of the Future Society to the entire state of Rajasthan, including Jaipur.

Senior journalist Tribhuvan, giving examples from countries around the world, said that solutions to basic problems are possible only by increasing participation in politics. It was also important to find solutions to the challenges faced by women in journalism.

Head of JECRC University, Amit Aggarwal, told all the journalists that to bring gender equality, it is necessary to make women economically capable. For this reason, those opportunities that are being run by the government and private agencies should be publicized in the media.

Let us tell you that while giving the vote of thanks at the end of this session, Sushil Kumar Sharma, President of The Future Society, while stating the responsibility of all the journalists present, said that “every journalist will have to sharpen his pen on women’s issues; only then will there be equality for women in the society. “Security can be ensured”. For your information, let us tell you that under this campaign organized by Future Society, work will be done to make journalists as well as children, teachers, and parents “gender sensitive” for the next 5 months.
