Jaipur. Under the aegis of Himachal Education Department, organized by Digital Bal Mela, sponsored by LIC, how should the government of children be? Under the campaign, a “dialogue session” was organized on 7th May. In this special session, Mr. Aditya Kant Sharma, Senior Executive Editor of “The Statesman” was present as the chief guest, who taught the children the lesson of political journalism. Children from Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Himachal and all over the country participated in this special dialogue session organized on the topic “Political journalism and its associated prestige and challenges”.
At the beginning of the dialogue session, where the chief guest shared the journey of more than two and a half decades of journalism with the children, in the question and answer session, Aditya Kant ji calmed the curiosity of the children by answering their questions. The questions asked by the children in this dialogue session around “Political Journalism”-
1. Palak Chowdhary of Laxmangarh asked the chief guest that what is the role of a journalist when the dark truth of a political party is known?
Answer- While answering this, Shri Aditya ji told that when any such truth comes to the fore, it is the responsibility of a journalist to first check the facts related to it and if the information is proved correct, publish it fearlessly.
2. Kangra’s Divyanshi Sharma while asking her question said that in today’s time how to identify good and bad news source due to increasing news channels on social media?
Answer- Responding to this, the chief guest told that in today’s time a person should analyze the news by reading news from many types of news channels instead of depending on one source for news. Not only this, to deal with this dilemma, the support of fact checker news columns and news channels is also appropriate.
It is worth mentioning that Chief Guest Mr. Aditya Sharma, describing journalism as a complement to the society, said that the condition of India in the Press Freedom Index is worrying, so one of the main reasons for this is social pressure.
Jahnavi Sharma, the founder of Digital Baal Mela, told that how should the children’s government organize this dialogue session? being done under Due to this campaign, a special children’s session will be organized in Shimla Vidhansabha on June 12. HP Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has given this golden opportunity to the children. Explain that appreciating this campaign, Himachal Chief Minister Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu called it useful for political awareness of children.
