Connecting children with heritage is vital: Rukmani Riyad

———“The Story of Museums, in the Words of Children” exhibition concludes

Jaipur. Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyad said that the state government is making every effort to promote children’s creativity. Connecting children with their heritage is crucial. Our museums are not just archives of the past, but living sources of inspiration and learning. She made this statement during the closing ceremony of the “The Story of Museums, in the Words of Children” exhibition held at the Sudarshan Art Gallery of the Jawahar Kala Kendra on Friday. She added that we must continue to take initiatives that foster children’s interest in history.

Riyad said that Rajasthan is known worldwide for its art and cultural heritage. She also praised the children’s creativity, calling it an effort to look at cultural heritage from a new perspective. She said that such campaigns bring out children’s talents and help keep them deeply connected to society and culture. Janhavi Sharma, founder of the Digital Children’s Fair, said that for the past week, the Sudarshan Art Gallery was abuzz with children’s imagination and colors. Through their paintings, young artists presented world heritage sites and museums from a new perspective. At the closing ceremony, participating children were awarded certificates and a special poster for the campaign was released. Ravita Sharma, vice president of the Future Society, said that this exhibition will be held at other tourist destinations in the state in the coming days.
