Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch: Sarpanches of Rajasthan promised “Baal Mitra” Panchayat

An innovative program was organised under “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign at Teej Hotel in Jaipur on Friday. Sarpanches and other officials from Panchayat areas of many districts of the state participated in this program, organised by Digital Baal Mela.

Jaipur. An innovative program was organised under “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign on Friday, 23rd September at Teej Hotel in Jaipur. Sarpanches and other officials from Panchayat areas of many districts of the state participated in this program, organised by Digital Baal Mela. In the program, Digital Baal Mela’s mentor and senior journalist Dr. Meena Sharma addressed about the “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign. On this occasion, the National President of Sarpanch Sangh, Jairam Palsania said “This effort of Digital Baal Mela is necessary for the development of children”. Not only this, Shafqat Hussain from UNICEF also became a part of this program.

 

For your information, let us tell you that under the partnership of UNICEF, this campaign will be officially launched on October 2nd. On this day in 1959, for the first time in modern India, then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru started the Panchayat system in Bagdhari village of Nagaur district of Rajasthan.

Know what Dr. Meena Sharma said?

Addressing about this campaign, Dr. Meena Sharma talked about the uniqueness of this campaign, the social importance of it, participation of children in the Panchayat system, the need to make Gram Panchayat as Baal Mitra Panchayat and the topics related to the organisation of Baal Panchayats. Along with this, information was also given about how to make the children of rural areas aware about this campaign.

Sarpanches’ reaction

Total of 17 Sarpanches/District Presidents/Their representatives attended this program. Sarpanches and District Presidents involved in the program were impressed by the innovation of “Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch” campaign and appreciated this initiative of Digital Baal Mela. Along with this, they showed enthusiasm to connect more and more children of their Panchayat areas with this campaign and organise Baal Panchayats in their villages. Not only this, the officials present there also promised to make their respective panchayats as “Baal Mitra Panchayat”. Significantly, under this initiative, Digital Baal Mela and UNICEF will work on children’s awareness about Panchayati Raj system, children’s participation in it and their education.
