Jaipur| On 12th of June, the state witnessed a historic Children’s Session presided over by the honorable Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For this special session, 68 children were selected from across the country, the process of which lasted for a total of three months. The selected “child representatives” were seen raising their issues in the Vidhansabha Bhawan located in Shimla. Shree Jwalamukhi’s Divyanshi Sharma, studying in G.G.S.S.S. was also selected for this Baal Satra. She was given the portfolios of Tourism and Art and Culture.

Answering the questions raised by Opposition in the house , Divyanshi said – “The government has recently organized the Shimla Summer Fest to preserve the art and culture of the state….” Along with this, Divyanshi also told that the government is doing many things to promote and preserve the rich culture of the state

In this session, Chief Minister of the state Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was present as the Chief Guest and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Mr. Harivansh witnessed the session as the Special Guest. The special feature of this session was that the selected children held all the posts of the House including Chief Minister, Leader-Opposition and Speaker. The children played the role of MLAs and ran the state assembly for a day.
