Jaipur. Almost 2 months have passed since an innovative campaign of Digital Baal Mela started, called Main Bhi Bal Sarpanch. Through this campaign, Digital Baal Mela has so far organiaed Baal Panchayat in 9 villages, in which, not only local sarpanchs took part, but even children of villages did not lag behind. More than 2,000 children became a part of these Bal Panchayats and also raised their voice.
Impact on local panchayats and response of children
Main Bhi Baal Sarpanch campaign has had a positive impact on the local panchayats. Organisation of Baal Panchayats gave local sarpanches a chance to talk face-to-face with children, from which they came to know about children’s attitude towards Panchayat. Along with this, they also promised to make their panchayats child friendly. There was an enthusiastic response from the children towards this campaign. Not only did the awareness of the children about Panchayati Raj increased in the Baal Panchayats, but also their inclination towards the village level democratic system also increased.
