Congress party has fielded its senior leader Uday Lal Anjana from Chittorgarh Lok Sabha seat. Hewas born on 5 May 1951 in Chhoti Sadri, Rajasthan.
He studied till B.Com second year. While studying, he started business in the year 1972. He is the director of Chetak Enterprises Limited, an AA category manufacturing company. In 2010, he founded Harish Anjana Foundation, a non-profit organization. In 1989, he held the post of President of Block Congress Committee Chhoti Sadri. In the 1993 assembly elections, he became MLA from Nimbahera-Chhotisadari assembly by defeating BJP’s Srichandra Kripalani. After this, in the year 1996, he was elected President of the District Congress Committee. In the year 1998, he was made the Chittorgarh Lok Sabha candidate for the first time. He became an MP for the first time by defeating senior BJP leader and then Defense Minister Jaswant Singh, but in just 13 months, due to the dissolution of the Lok Sabha, re-election was held. In which he was defeated by BJP’s Srichandra Kripalani.
In the year 2000, he was elected Zilla Parishad member, in the year 2005 once again elected District Congress Committee President and member of All India Congress Committee. After this he again became MLA in the year 2008. They remained together in the year 2018 also. Along with being an MLA, he also became the Cooperation Minister. Recently on 28 February 2024, he was made the Chairman of Rajasthan Disciplinary Committee. In the recently held assembly elections, she had to face defeat from Nimbahera assembly constituency. Anjana first started her business by selling dodachura. At that time the sale of Dodachura was considered legal. Today Udaylal Anjana also has the business of soybean oil extraction factory, toll tax, mining work and road construction.
