Celebrated every year on 9th August…
Ansh Gandhi.
Jaipur: Every year on August 9, International Day of the Indigenous Peoples is celebrated to promote and protect the rights of the tribal population. It was first declared by the United Nations General Assembly on 23 December 1994. This day is celebrated with great pomp all over the world. This day is celebrated as a festival not only in the United Nations but also in Bangladesh including India, Canada, and Taiwan. This day is celebrated in different ways in every country.
A tribal society is such a class or group of people whose basic needs are water, land, and forest only. These people mostly live in forests and make their livelihood from forests and their products only. Tribal people are protectors of their culture and nature and worship only these. In fact, our culture has survived only because of the tribals. The Rajasthan government is organizing a big program on this occasion at Mangarh, the abode of tribals in Banswara. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will launch the Rajasthan assembly elections here today
