Jaipur . On June 12, the state witnessed a historic Children’s Session presided over by the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. For this special session, 68 children were selected from across the country, the process of which lasted a total of three months. “Child representatives” were seen raising their voice on child issues in Shimla Vidhansabha Bhawan. Arju Sharma of Seraj’s Seraj Velly Modern Public Senior Secondary School also participated. Arju gave important suggestions to the government while playing the role of MLA of the opposition in this session.
In this special children’s session, Aarazu while giving suggestions to the government said – “Honourable Chairman, I have appeared in this House under rule 324 of the procedure to give suggestions to the government regarding the increasing accidents and traffic in the state. Honorable Chairman Sir, in our state every day three people lose their lives in road accidents. I am not saying this, it says the copy of this newspaper and not only this, you can read the news of accidents daily in every other newspaper. In such a situation, the government needs to take necessary steps to reduce accidents. I request the government that to reduce road accidents, we should install crash barriers on the highways of our state. Due to lack of road lights at night, road accidents are increasing, so the state government should also work for the provision of solar powered road lights. Honorable Sir, now it comes to traffic, no member of the House is untouched by this problem. In such a situation, I am of the opinion that the State Government should lay emphasis on strengthening the Himachal Pradesh Transport. Along with this, more tax should be imposed on private vehicles coming from outside in the state, this will also provide employment to the taxi drivers of our state, and the number of vehicles which are increasing day by day will also decrease. In this session, Chief Minister of the state Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Mr. Harivansh Narayan Singh as a special guest attended the session. The special thing about this session was that the children played the roles of Chief Minister, Leader-Opposition, Speaker and all the posts and ran the state assembly for a day.
